Instructions for Therapists

General instructions for Therapists

These guidelines are to ensure your safety and the safety of your clients and other therapists using the rooms.

To ensure a high standard of sanitisation, it is important to clean on entering and on leaving rooms and to ventilate the rooms between sessions.

As a minimum, we suggest that therapists and clients wear face masks when entering and leaving rooms, and the building.

'CLEAN IN' TO THE ROOMS

  • Use a sanitising wipe on the door handle as you open the door.
  • Using however many wipes necessary walk into the building, clean the inside door handle.
  • Clean any light switches you need to touch.
  • Clean both sides of the door handle of the room you will use.
  • Clean any sockets that you intend to use.
  • Clean any desk/table surfaces you intend to use.
  • Wipe down the therapist and client chairs.
  • Wash your hands and prepare to contact your client

CLIENT CONTACT

  • The booked session time is for 1 hour and 15 minutes. This allows 45 minutes to see the client and 30 minutes to clean and for droplets to settle. It is important to ensure the windows are open to ventilate the rooms during this time.
  • Text your client and then using a wipe open the door ready for them to enter.
  • Ask your client to confirm that they have no symptoms of Covid and take their temperature if possible. If higher than 38 they will need to return home and seek advice.
  • Direct them to the room that will be used where the door will be open. Ask them to take their seat.
  • Close the front door behind them.
  • Family or people accompanying clients need to remain in their cars while the session takes place. If needed they can be texted to collect their person.
  • If agreed remove your face coverings once in the room and sitting down.
  • Advise your client to do the same.
  • The therapist is responsible for the client’s ‘touch free’ arrival into the rooms and departure from the rooms.
  • If the client does touch anything, please ensure that it is wiped down after.
  • If the client needs to use the toilet then please follow the instructions that will be in the toilet. You will need to clean the area for them to use and following use.
