http://www.counsellingwithjustin.comFirstly a warm Hello, my name is Justin. It is important you find the right counsellor and psychotherapist for you. So do take the time to read through my profile and be assured I will endeavour to work with you in the best way possible.
I practice from a Humanistic Integrative approach. Utilising a variety of approaches within a humanistic framework such as: Gestalt, Transactional analysis, Solution Focussed, Narrative, Compassion Focussed Therapy, Mindfulness, Experiential and Person-centred ways of working. As well as drawing upon a panoply of other approaches in counselling and psychotherapy.
I hold a postgraduate qualification in counselling and psychotherapy practice. As well as an undergraduate qualification in counselling. Prior to becoming a psychotherapist. I spent 17 years working a variety of roles within mental health support services, coordinating and facilitating groups and working with crisis and multiple and diverse issues.
I listen to you with empathy, seeking to understand, accept and respect where you have been, where you may go and where you are now.
All aspects of the human experience have the potential to be a resource.
I offer a reflective relationship that is considerate and sensitive of your needs as they present themselves.
I see the work as a collaborative process between you and I as your therapist. Therapy is a two way process of relationship. Therapists don’t work ‘on’ you they work ‘with’ you.
I listen to you and the change you want to create. In that vein we may well think about various solutions, strategies or approaches and different perspectives in working with a wide variety of presenting issues.
Always working with your needs and experiences, going at a pace that you feel is necessary.
I offer an environment of:
- Hope - Empathy - Empowerment - Reflection
As well as a place to be appropriately challenged.
The therapeutic relationship is an important agent of healing and change and I invite you to work in a present tense, a place in which you can explore the past, realise its impact on now and also look at future expectations and possibilities.
Counselling and Psychotherapy offer a whole range of ways in which to explore and express your inner subjective world. I value working creatively and I may at times invite you to work with various creative media, such as keeping a journal, creating pictures, creative writing, working with metaphor and simile or experiment with new ways of being in the therapeutic session.
An explorative, supportive, reflective opportunity to increase your sense of self, gain better understanding, self awareness and emotional competence. So that you may go forward and live your life more fully.
I work both short term and long term. Usually on a weekly basis - at least as a start anyway. We can review our work regularly as we go along. I am insured, experienced and a registered counsellor and psychotherapist with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I work within the BACP's ethical framework for counselling and psychotherapy.
I am experienced in working with a wide variety of issues. I specialise in working with all forms of abuse and have extensive experience in working with ‘survivors’ of abuse. Which includes: Trauma, Childhood Abuse, Domestic Abuse, Sexual Abuse, Emotional and Psychological abuse.
As well as experience of working with; Depression, Anxiety, Stress, Relationships, Anger, Aggression, Bereavement, Suicide, Addictions, Health Issues, Sexual Issues, Sexualities, Self Esteem, Self Confidence, Bullying, Self Harm, Parenting and etc.
Fees: £65’s - £30’s
* Please be a aware, whilst my fee states £70’s I am happy to offer a sliding scale for those who cannot afford my top fee. This is open to discussion. Counselling and therapy are of social Value and I hold spaces for those on much lower incomes and respect individual context. * I only have a limited number of spaces at considerable low cost.
