Jungian Analyst (UKCP) and Psychodynamic Psychotherapist (BPC).

I am a Jungian analyst and psychodynamic psychotherapist in private practice in Brighton and London.

Psychotherapy allows one the opportunity to speak openly and freely about anything that might be troubling in a setting that is confidential and non-judgmental. Most of us lack anything that resembles the therapeutic relationship in our lives. Therapy can be a unique chance for us to bring into the open, feelings that might be too uncomfortable to speak about anywhere else.

One may become aware of inner conflicts that, though unconscious, had occupied much of one's psychic energy.

What comes up in the psychotherapeutic encounter is generally not rational nor predictable. It is also difficult to specify what works' and what does not. A therapist who, through years of preparation, is open to the depth and breadth of human experience may be able to form a trusted relationship that allows the patient the space to uncover aspects of his or her self that have been repressed or ignored. This may have the benefit of developing one's range of inner resources and result in one feeling free to engage in life using a wider range of available emotions.

My approach is broadly based on the ideas of Carl Jung, who I believe, came closer than any other depth psychologist to recognising the psyche's spiritual purpose. Apart from Jung, I incorporate the methods of other psychoanalytic schools, but most importantly, I seek to put theory aside in the consulting room in order to meet the patient where he or she is at that time.

All Practitioners at Brighton Consulting rooms work independently and are responsible for ensuring they are insured and, where applicable, are members of approved professional bodies.
